Google Trends / Search-Volume Signals

Use public search-interest data (Google Trends, pytrends) as an early warning signal for markets driven by public attention, such as a candidate, a product launch, or a viral event. The edge is timing: a sharp spike in searches often precedes the Polymarket price move, so you position before the crowd catches up, while filtering out unrelated search noise.

What you need to run it

  • Google Trends API / pytrends scraping with rate limits
  • Backtest showing trend spikes precede Polymarket moves
  • Noise filter to avoid reacting to unrelated search surges

Where this applies

Markets on Polymarket where google trends / search-volume signals is the natural play:

  • Will [a major game] release before the end of 2026?
  • Will [candidate] win the 2027 [major mayoral/gubernatorial] race?
  • Will [film] win Best Picture at the 2027 Oscars?
