Nested-Deadline Coherence Arbitrage

Geopolitical questions get listed at several horizons at once: will this happen by June, by September, by December. Those are nested — anything that happens by June has also happened by December — so the prices must rise with the horizon. Long-dated legs are thin and stale while the near-dated one reprices on every headline, which regularly pushes the set into impossibility. You buy the underpriced longer horizon against the overpriced shorter one.

What you need to run it

  • Grouping of markets into nested-deadline families for the same underlying event
  • Monotonicity checks across horizons with alerting on violations
  • Patience and capital, since the lock resolves only at the longest horizon

Where this applies

Markets on Polymarket where nested-deadline coherence arbitrage is the natural play:

  • Will a ceasefire be in place by September 30, 2026?
  • Will a ceasefire be in place by December 31, 2026?
  • Will a peace agreement be signed before July 2027?
