Caption-Latency Arbitrage

The same live event reaches different audiences at different times: a raw satellite or press-pool feed can run 20 to 60 seconds ahead of the cable broadcast and further ahead of social clips. In mention markets, where resolution turns on a single moment, that gap is the entire game. You source the fastest legitimate feed available and, just as importantly, refuse to trade live when you know you are on the slow one.

What you need to run it

  • Access to the earliest available live feed for the event type you trade
  • Continuous latency measurement against a reference to know where you stand
  • Automatic stand-down when your feed is behind, since being slow here is pure loss

Where this applies

Markets on Polymarket where caption-latency arbitrage is the natural play:

  • Will the word be said during the live address?
  • Will the official confirm the announcement on camera today?
  • Will the phrase appear in the opening statement?
