Pre-Resolution Oracle-Lag Lock-In

When a real-world event is already decided but Polymarket's oracle (UMA) hasn't officially posted and finalized the result yet, the winning side can still be bought below $1. This strategy buys the winner (and the loser's NO) during that proposal-and-dispute lag, locking in the soon-to-be-confirmed payout. The edge is the delay between what actually happened and when the chain marks it official.

What you need to run it

  • Authoritative real-world result feed faster than UMA proposal
  • UMA proposal/dispute-window state monitor per market
  • Capital and fast fills before book reprices to $1/$0
  • Dispute-risk filter for ambiguous resolution sources

Where this applies

Markets on Polymarket where pre-resolution oracle-lag lock-in is the natural play:

  • Will the Lakers win the 2027 NBA Finals?
  • Will the Fed cut rates at the July 2026 FOMC meeting?
  • Will the Democratic candidate win the 2026 Virginia governor race?
