UMA Dispute-Window Mispricing Capture

When a market enters UMA's oracle window (a proposed answer that anyone can dispute for a fixed 'liveness' period before it locks), the on-book price often still lags the now-obvious outcome. Buy the correct side at a discount and hold through the window, sizing for the small chance the proposed answer gets disputed and overturned. The edge is that many traders won't tie up capital during the multi-hour-to-days settlement lock, so they leave cheap shares behind.

What you need to run it

  • UMA Optimistic Oracle event listener (OO contract proposals/disputes on Polygon)
  • Mapping of Polymarket questionID to UMA ancillary data + liveness timers
  • Capital tolerant of 2-7 day settlement lockup
  • Bond/dispute-history model to price re-dispute probability

Where this applies

Markets on Polymarket where uma dispute-window mispricing capture is the natural play:

  • Will the named candidate win the 2026 New Jersey governor race?
  • Will Bitcoin close above $130k on December 31, 2026?
  • Will the named fighter win their bout at the next UFC numbered event?
